Is an upgrade really needed?
Hi I’m not a person who upgrades their computer to the latest stuff all the time but lately I’ve been thinking about upgrading my current set up. Although I’m wondering if it’s really worth it as apart from Crysis nothing really slows down my system. So this gets me thinking maybe it’s just a waste of money as the performance upgrade would not be that high would it?
I was thinking of upgrading these components to:
Athlon 64 X2 4800+ (skt 939) cpu…. (To a Phenom II X2 550 BE)
Asus A8R32-MVP Deluxe (skt 939) Crossfire Motherboard (To an asus m4n78 se AM2+ mobo)….
3gb Corsair Xms DDR 400 Ram…. (to 2gb Corsair XMS DDR2 800)
Keeping my current 4850 Radeon and Vista Ultimate.
That is a decent gaming setup already, but if you haven’t upgraded in a awhile then it may be time.
You will defiantly notice different loading times between your first and second configuration.
And if your computer only slows down a bit with Crysis, you know you got a decent setup. That game is one of the most demanding games on the market!
All in all you really don’t need to change anything, but if you want that boost in speed, than I say go for it!
